About us
Functional underwear for business, everyday life and exceptional comfort – since 2008.
ALBERT KREUZ began with a very personal need: our founder was looking for an undershirt that would remain invisible beneath an open dress shirt, stay reliably tucked into his trousers and feel comfortable all day long. Despite an extensive search, he could not find a product that truly convinced him.
So he decided to develop it himself. He left the security of his job and started his own business with the idea of offering functional underwear designed with meticulous attention to detail. ALBERT KREUZ was born from this idea in 2008.
To this day, every new product begins with one specific question: what can we do better?
Our standards
Thoughtful cuts, suitable colours, careful workmanship and high-quality materials form the foundation of our products.
Extra-long undershirts stay securely tucked in. Deep necklines disappear even beneath open dress shirts and blouses. Skin-tone styles remain particularly discreet, even under light-coloured clothing. Clean-cut products without outer seams are significantly less likely to show beneath close-fitting garments.
We do not follow short-lived trends. Instead, we develop functional solutions for specific requirements in business and everyday life – often based on our own experiences and just as frequently inspired by suggestions from our customers.
How it all began
2008 – ALBERT KREUZ is founded
Albert Kreuz GmbH is founded with courage, a clear idea and exceptionally high standards of quality. The aim is to develop particularly functional underwear for people who need it to perform reliably, even beneath demanding outerwear.
The first product is the sleeveless “Berlin” men’s undershirt. It is cut extra long and has a slightly deeper-than-usual V-neck. It solves precisely the problem for which the founder had previously been unable to find a suitable solution.
2009 – The skin-tone men’s undershirt
ALBERT KREUZ launches a skin-tone men’s undershirt. Unusual at the time, this colour remains far less visible beneath white dress shirts than white underwear and develops into an important hallmark of the brand.
2010 to 2015 – Expanding the range
New materials, additional cuts and further styles gradually expand the collection. In 2015, ALBERT KREUZ becomes known to a wider audience through its appearance on the German television programme “Die Höhle der Löwen”.
2017 – The first women’s collection
The range is expanded to include functional women’s underwear. During the same period, ALBERT KREUZ participates in projects of the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations for the first time.
2018 – Clean Cut and expanded production
With Clean Cut, ALBERT KREUZ introduces underwear without outer seams for women and men. The highly precise, computer-controlled cutting required for these products is carried out by a specialised production partner in Portugal.
Since then, a large part of our range has been made in Portugal. Production within the European Union enables close collaboration and the careful execution required for sophisticated materials and cuts.
Merino wool underwear and selected scarves are also added to the range in the same year.
From the first idea to the finished product
New ALBERT KREUZ products are not created at the drawing board of an anonymous corporation. They grow from our own experiences, specific customer requests and countless small observations from everyday life.
Ideas are developed and refined down to the smallest detail at our company headquarters in Teltow. We work with fabrics, compare materials, assess colours and consider which cut will best fulfil the intended function. We genuinely sit at the table ourselves with fabric and scissors, changing necklines, lengths and proportions. We continue searching for the right solution until an initial idea becomes a convincing concept.
The first samples are then made in close collaboration with our manufacturing partner. They are tried on, tested in everyday life, critically assessed and repeatedly adjusted. It often takes several rounds of samples before the material, cut, length and workmanship work together exactly as we envisaged.
Only when we are completely satisfied does a sample become an ALBERT KREUZ product.
Products inspired by everyday life
Many of our product ideas begin with a specific question:
Should an undershirt remain invisible even beneath a widely open dress shirt? Does it need to be especially long so that it does not slip out of the trousers? Which colour disappears most effectively beneath light-coloured clothing? Should a material provide warmth, cooling, moisture regulation or especially fast drying?
Feedback from our customers also contributes directly to product development. We take comments about fit, neckline, length and material seriously. This is how new variations are created and existing products are improved step by step.
This close connection to both the product and the people who wear it continues to define ALBERT KREUZ today.
Materials for different requirements
Depending on the product, we use materials including organic cotton, stretch cotton, MicroModal, TENCEL™ Lyocell, merino wool, microfibre and selected performance fibres.
Each material is selected to suit its intended use – from natural comfort and temperature-regulating properties to quick-drying performance fabrics.
For us, a high-quality product is created only through the interplay of material, cut and workmanship. We therefore assess not only how a fabric feels, but also how it performs in everyday use, how well it retains its shape and whether it reliably fulfils its intended function.
You will find the exact material composition and all care instructions clearly stated on the relevant product page.
ALBERT KREUZ today
Today, our range includes functional underwear and selected clothing for women and men. Our materials, styles and collections are continuously developed and refined.
Although the range has grown, we still work according to the same principle as we did with our first undershirt: we listen carefully, question existing solutions and continue refining our ideas until we are genuinely convinced.
Our original ambition remains unchanged: we develop products that perform reliably beneath clothing, remain as discreet as possible and feel comfortable throughout the day.
